    Pyorrhoea is a mouth disease and well known as Periodontitis in medico term triggered by microbes infections and contaminations of the gums and teeth which produce acid solution and toxins that prompt teeth rot and characterised by copius discharge of pus from the gum and teeth resulting in loosening of teeth that cause for tooth loss in people.


    Causes of  Pyorrhoea

    Constipation  and Indigestion.

    Unhygienic oral practices / Poor oral cleanliness.

    The sticking or blocking of food particles or debris in between your  teeth for quite a while may bring about rot.

    Deficiency of Vitamin C.

    Chemical irritants.

    Not managed gum injury.

    Mental stress and tension.

    Glandular issues.

    Allergies.

    Infections because of proliferation of microbes.

    Increased and unnecessary use of tobacco products.

    Hormonal changes in the body during pregnancy or menopause.

    Unnecessary tartar creation and development.

    Unnecessary consumption of alcoholic beverages / liquor.

    Usage of certain drugs - like birth control (contraceptive) pills.

    Pregnancy.

    Wrong dietary patterns like excessive use of white sugar and bread.

    Wrong method of brushing.

    Sign and Symptoms of Pyorrhoea

    Tenderness, swelling on gums / swollen, tender or sensitive gums.

    Pus oozing / discharging from teeth.

    Loose teeth.

    Bleeding from gums during cleaning teeth or spitting out blood after brushing teeth.

    Gum abscess, ulceration, swelling and tenderness.

    Metallic taste, bad breath and / or foul smell in mouth.

    Gum pain.

    Difficulty in chewing.

    Lifestyle Advice for pyorrhoea

    Sedentary practices, day time sleeping, late night meals, heavy to digest and toxins producing diet like meat, fish, pizza, etc. should be better avoided.

    Oral cleanliness should be managed properly and for this purpose brushing two times daily is essential and avoid injuries or trauma of gums while brushing.

    For better dental hygiene, eat fresh and organic fruits like guava and orange.

    Using of antiseptic mouth wash solution like chlorhexidine gluconate is beneficial in Pyorrhoeal conditions and also use ayurvedic tooth paste or powder for prevention and cure of pyorrhoea.

    Gargling with luke warm water and alum powder may be helpful in the cases of pyorrhoea.

    Make a strategic distance from tobacco products.

    Brushing with rock salt powder mixed with mustard oil is an old age solution for pyorrhoea.

    Rub lemon juice on gums for prevent bleeding.

    Chewing of clove after each meal may be a decent mouth freshner and should be used in foul smelling of mouth.

    Scaling and flossing  should be achieved by an expert dentist to prevent pyorrhoea.

    Do not intake foods or drink, that are too hot or too cold. As they aggrevate the disease.

    Chewing of fresh bark of Bakula may stop bleeding gums and is an effective home remedy for Pyorrhea.

    Chewing unripe Guava, tender leaves or  root bark is an excellent home remedy for Pyorrhea.

    Intaking of 4- 5 black raisin with normal water and a pinch of rock salt before going to bed help in curing pyorrhoea.

    Rub mustard oil, sesame oil or marjoram oil two times daily for preventing and curing Pyorrhea, since they reduces bacterial growth in oral cavity.

    Drinking carrot and spinach juices may be an effective home remedies for dealing with Pyorrhea.

    Arjun - Arjun tree - Terminalia Arjuna.

    Neem - Indian lilac - Azadirachta indica.

    Dalchini - Cinnamon - Cinnamomum Zeylanica.

    Amalaki - Indian gooseberry - Emblica Officinalis.

    Vibhitaki - ‎Belliric myrobalan - Terminalia Belerica.

    Haritaki - Indian hog plum - Terminalia chebula.

    Guggul  - Commiphora Mukul.

    Sonth - Ginger - Zingiber officinale

    Mustak - Nut grass - Cyprus rotundus.

    Khadir/  Kathha - Acacia catechu.

    Karpur - Camphor -  Cinnamomum camphora.

    Poongi phal - Betel Nuts -  Areca catechu.

    Yashtimadhu - Licorice root - Glycyrrhiza glabra.

    Bakula - Mimusops elengi.

    Lettuce leaves - Lactuca sativa.

    Vanshlochan - Bamboo manna - Bambusa Arundiaceae.

     Pipal - Sacred Fig - Ficus religiosa.

    Babul - Gum arabic tree - Acacia Arabica.

    Maricha - Black peper - Piper nigrum.

    Lavang - Clove - Syzygium aromaticum.

    Haldi - Turmeric - Curcuma longa.

    Arand  - Castor-oil-plant - Ricinus Communis.

    Tulsi - Holy basil - Ocimum sanctum.

    Pippali - Long peper - Piper longum.

    Guduchi - Heart-leaved moonseed - Tinospora cordifolia.

    Hastidanti - Red Physic Nut - Baliospermum montanum.

    Nishoth - Indian Jalap - Ipomoea turpethum.

    Vidanga - False black pepper - Embelia ribes.

    Amrud - Guava - Psidium guajava.

    Bargad - Banyan tree - Ficus benghalensis.

    Mango leaves - Mangifera indica.

    Papaya  - Pawpaw / melon tree - Carica papaya.

    Elaichi - Cardamom - Elettaria cardamomum.

    Jambul - Black plum - Syzygium cumini.

    Palak - Spinach - Spinacia oleracea.

    Safed chandan - Sandal wood - Santalum album.

    Anaar - Pomegranate - Punica granatum.

    Pyaz - Onion - Allium Cepa.

    Santara - Orange - Citrus sinensis.

    Gajar - Carrot - Daucus carota.

    Nimboo - Lemon - Citrus limon.

    Make Gum Care Powder at your home and use it in Pyorrhoea to get relief.

    Neem dried leaves 10 gms.

    Black peper - 2 gms.

    Karpur / camphor  - 3 gms.

    Orange rind dried - 5 gms.

    Catechu  - 5 gms.

    Turmeric - 5 gms.

    Rosted bettel nut - 10 gms.

    Babul bark  - 10 gms.

    Guava tree bark - 10 gms.

    Mango tender leaves dried  - 10 gms.

    Clove  - 5 gms.

    Holy basil leaves dried  - 5 gms.

    Rock salt  - 10 gms.

    Baking soda - 5 gms.

    Roasted Alum - 5 gms.

    Collect all above stated ingredients.
    Make a fine powder after grinding them and rub this powder with mustard oil on your gums for get rid of dental pain, discharging pus and bleeding gum and brush with this powder to get relief in pyorrhea. It may be an excellent gum care and tooth care powder.
