    What's  HIV / AIDS ?

    Diagnostic investigations for HIV / AIDS Infection.

    ELISA Test — ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay)

    Western Blot Test - This is a very sensitive blood test and used when an ELISA test is positive.

    Saliva / mouth swab Tests - Sent to a laboratory for testing and results are accessibe after 3 days.

    Antibody / antigen screening test.

    RNA tests (Viral load test) - It identifies HIV-RNA in the blood in earlier HIV infection.

    EIA screen tests - enzyme immunoassay test.

    p24 antigen tests.

    CD4 count test.

    HIV Medications

    NNRTI - non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors.

    HIV Prevention

    There’s no treatment or vaccine to counteract HIV infection, the only way people can prevent an infection from the virus is to look at  some precautionary measures that are -

    Stay away from unprotected sex. For this reason, always wear condom during sexual activity including vaginal, oral, and anal sex.

    Have just a single sexual partner.

    Don’t share needles for taking drugs. Always utilize new and unshared needle.

    Do not carry pregnancy, if you are suffering to HIV Infection.

    Stay away from breastfeeding if you have HIV Infection.

    Education - Need to instruct people to decrease unsafe conduct.
